Does any on know how to get mame running from a bog standard ps3- im not running linux and dont know any thing about it. please help

First you will need to install linux. Then you would need to get MAME for the ppc architecture.

Thanks, how would i go about downloading linux onto my ps3 and what version do i need? Also for my ps3 i've only got the standard controlers...

Also what does ppc architecture mean, im used to running the old mame and mame32...

i found mine on torrent..... yellow dog linux v.6.0 i installed today and runs perfect going to install emulators tonight!!!

I've just looked at downloading ydl and it looks very complex to use and im not really sure what to do as i've only ever used xp- also i dont have a dvd burner :( (i'm mostly a hardcore gamer and dont muck about with the software too much)

It all seems a lot of effort to get mame running- in truth i thought the ps3 would run it easly- as my mate had it running on a chipped xbox1

There only 0-5mb roms i want to run.

Is there no way to run it without using a new os?
