I recently purchased a used PS3 from a friend of mine. It worked perfectly fine the night I bought it when we played it at his house before I left. I brought it home that night and have been through several different AV chords trying to get the PS3 to work. It powers on fine and you can hear it running fine, but no picture comes up on the screen. My friend won't take it back because it was fine when I left and he thinks I damaged it. What could be wrong here? I don't think this is a common problem and I've tried several different chords (and made sure they were connected properly). I'm not good with technology but I know how to hook up an AV cable. What do you guys think?

If your friend had it connected using an HDMI cable, then it probably set to HDMI video outut. All you need to do is turn it on, then hold the power button down for about 10 seconds. You should hear a few (I think it's 3) beeps, and the console will reset itself and be restored to the factory settings, i.e. it will run through the AV cord that you are trying to use.
