Hi! I'm new both to this forum and Linux, so I will try to explain my problem as thouroughly as I can.
I recently bought myself a PS3 (40GB version). At the moment I'm having quite a bit of spare time so I've decided to try out linux. I've never used it before, but I followed the installation guide on this forum (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/502201) and succesfully installed the latest YDL (6.0) on my PS3.
(I've read that using a SDTV can cause problems, so just so you know; I'm using a FullHD LCD TV)
Linux is up and running, and the only problem I have is that I can't get the Wireless connection to work. I've followed the guide on terrasoft's web page (http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/support/solutions/ydl_5.0/ps3-wifi-config.shtml) but when I activate it I get this message "Determining IP information for eth0... failed; no link present. Check Cable?"
The router I'm using is D-Link DI-604.
Since WiFi works in GameOS I tried copying the settings I have there and manually entering the IP etc in Linux, but I still get the same result.
Minor note: When I'm in GameOS I see that it's using Channel 13 (I enter channel 13 when I try and auto obtain IP aswell) under the Network Settings. In terrsoft's guide it says that in USA only channels 1-11 are legal. I live in Sweden, but as I said I'm quite new to this, might it have something to do with the problem?
I've tried solving this problem on my own for about a day now, but I can't find any solution. I've also looked around on forums etc for people with similar problems, but those threads don't really help since all this is a bit new to me, and when people start talking about kernels I'm completely lost.
Anyway, I really hope someone can help me with this, 'cause it would be so much fun to actually have this working! :)
