Playing music from MP3 Folder on PC thru PS3

I'm not very technically savy... so bare with me....
I've searched this forum to see if I could find an answer to my problem but I couldn't find anything.
Here's the deal.
Thru my PS3 I can see my MP3 music folder I have on my PC.
I can go inside it and see all the folders that are in there listed by artist names.
I can play music from any of these folders.
So I went in and created a new folder in the MP3 folder and dropped a lot of various music into this folder - to play for a party.
Then I arranged all this music into the order I wanted it to play for the party.
I can see this music and play it from my PS3 just fine.
The issue is that it plays the music in this folder in alphabetical order by artist name - no matter the order I have them listed in the folder on my PC.
How can I fix this and get my music to play in the order I want it to? Is this a PS3 setting?
Or is there another way I can do this?
I went to a lot of trouble to create this playlist for this party. I just want it to play in the order I have it! Its over 6 hours worth - I don't want to copy all this music to the PS3 - hubby would shoot me! (and I can't ask him how to do it because this party is a surprise bday party for him)

This is a lame way but in your new PC folder, rename each artist with a # in the order that you want them played. ex.. 1 aerosmith, 2 aerosmith, 3 whatever. It should play them in numerical order.

BTW, song 11 will play after song 1. Song 20,21,22 etc will play after song 2. The order is controled by the most significant digit. "I think". Just play around with it. Good luck.

install Orb on your PC then you can watch videos n listen to music on your PS3.

Wait, how did you do this? I thought a media server was required for the PS3 to see any media not stored on its own hard drive.

You could also import all the tracks you want to play and create a playlist.
