i have been using dvd shrink 3.0 beta 5 for months now and have had no problems. i started using 3.1 when it came out and am now using 3.1.4 and i am getting this weird problem.

when i go to play the disc and click on play movie form the menu, the special features start to play. if i start the movie from scene selection it works fine.

has anyone else had this problem.

thanks

Hi KakarotX,
This might be similar, this is what I did and what occured burning Road to Perdition:
I applied a lot of compression (max) to the menu using Custom Ratio and had a problem getting the movie to start with the menu, I had to use my DVD player remote to skip to the start.
I haven't had it occur again but I've only burned a few movies with 3.1.4.

Did you use a lot of compression on the menu?
I'm thinking that too much compression is altering the DVD structure, thats just a wild guess though.

I'm going to try the burn again, with less compression, and see if I can isolate the problem.

It may even be my cheap DVD player.

Frank

Why not just do a "movie only" backup?. It solves a multitude of problems.

Yes it does, but you could say that about most things in life!

I just like some of the less simple things in life!
