Im new to the PS3 system and im wanting to buy a few new games but i want to get opinions on what games are worth paying $50.00+ for. I currently got GTA 4 and COD 3 (which came with my ps3). If people would chime in and list what there top 2 or 3 games are that they own and play the most would be great. I know some games i bought for PS2 i really wish i wouldn't have bought them after playing them. play them a few days and that's about it. I want to get some games that take time to beat and the most fun to play. any suggestions would be great!! Thanks
heres the list i do plan on buying unless i hear that they arent that fun.
GTA 4 (i own it and its my fav so far)
COD 3 (i own it but havent played much)
Madden 09 (plan to purchase)
COD 4 (plan to purchase)
Battlefield Bad Company (plan to purchase)
GRID (plan to purchase)
Army of Two(plan to purchase)
Thats just a list of games that are out now that i plan to purchase.
I'm surprised you don't have mgs4 on the list, it is pretty much a must have for any ps3 owner.
As for as arcade racers go I loved juiced 2 HIN but no one else owns it for the ps3 so there's literally pretty much no one online which is such a shame because I love the way the game is setup.
Rainbow six vegas & vegas 2 are good games but after you finish the first one and play the second you will realize even though vegas 2 is slightly better it is basically the same game with different maps and a sprint button.
I think that's like saying "Yes i ran a half marathon last year and it was good, this year I ran the full marathon. It was a bit longer but really you just carry on running the same way you do in the half marathon but with different maps and a sprint button." :D
In fact that true of all game genres, all you do in shooters is shoot things, in RPGs you hang around pretending to be something you;re not, and in stratagies you plan things then execute. Maybe we should come up with a new genre?
What do you think about Guitar Hero or Rockband? I also like Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid, Resistance: Fall of Men, Civilization, Soul Calibur, etc. etc.
Personally, I think MGS4's the one with the most lasting appeal. It's got a great single-player mode and an all-around badass multiplayer mode.
I've personally wanted to get the Orange Box for a while, since it's got a slew of really good shooters, but I haven't personally tried it.
Assassin's Creed is good, but it's relatively short. You can spend hours and hours running through the world collecting flags and stuff, but that's really all you can do besides play through the main game.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma... well, it's a really half-assed remake of Ninja Gaiden Black for the PS3. You can get a demo of it if you want to see for yourself.
And Resistance, while it doesn't have the tightness of control as, say, COD4, is still a really good shooter itself. (Besides, it's a hell of a lot better than GTAIV.)
Anyway.
Speaking of demos, why don't you download some off of PSN and check them out that way? It sure beats taking the advice of complete strangers.
Oh, but you should get Tetris Plus. Totally. It'll rock your socks off.

No, that was just ubisoft with their usual laziness. Literally everything was the same except for a few new guns and the sprint. They didn't do jack all for development.
I really enjoyed Drake's Fortune. It was really a great game, a hell of a lot better than what my expectations were of it.I'm guessing you do have online access because COD4 is short....I mean really short. Online will definitely prolong the life of a lot of the games that use it. Hey I like Warhawk, its not a bad one to have in your library and for 29.99 greatest hits its well worth it(again this is online only). So I hope this info helps.
I love all of those games. I would have to rank Warhawk, Uncharted and MGS4 as top 3 in no particular order with Resistacen 4th and HS 5th, but all are great games.
