So I have a psp ith cfw 4.01 m-33 on it and a ps3 with 2.42 on it.
I need to register my psp with my ps3 before remote play is allowed at all.
To do this, I have the psp hooked to the ps3 via usb cable.
On the psp, i go to usb mode
On the ps3 i go to register psp.
The ps3 says "no psp is connected" or something to that effect. However, my ps3 does show my psp as being a usb device under pictures, movies, etc.

You have corrupted IDStorage keys. Look for ChillyWillies Keycleaner (v1.4 is the most recent that I have used, but there may be a newer one). It should fix your PSP keys. Now, hook your PSP up to your computer. It should show as a PSP Type A or similar, NOT a mass storage device. If this shows correctly, then your PS3 will now recognize your PSP.
