hey guys...i recenty installed fedora linux on my ps3 system...and after you've done installing it...it asks you for a username and password that you will be asked for everytime you enter linux...well..my keyboard was having a problem doing so...now i reformatted my hard drive and the stupid linux is still there...i need to know some ways to either take it out or if its possible some way to re install it..or some how be able to change the password and username while booting up.THANKS

Not used Linux on PS3 only on servers. But don't see why it would be any different.

Boot into Single user mode and user command 'passwd root' to change password. Then use root as user name and whatever password you chose.

i tried this already...it wont work...i reformatted every possible way the ps3 reformats...the stupid partition still didnt get removed...its still there..somebody help!!...i just wanna remove that partition now. thanks

If you are just trying to reformat the drive, just boot into the PS3 OS and choose the Full Format option from the settings menus.

everybody whose doing their best in here helping me...thanks...and i've already did that...its really weird how its freaking stuck with this partition...its seriously pissing me off!!..i mean...the meaning of format is to remove everything..isnt it?...i did all those..it didnt remove it.

What size is your drive and what are you seeing (size of partitions and how your reading them)?

well...i did all the reformat..i tried all the ways to reformat...so..whats wrong is...the ps3 still doesnt remove the partition...and idk why its doin that...i took the time out to do all those 3-4 hrs formatting...got nothing...idk...i just hope somebody knows what my ps3 is doin. THANKS
