I have spent some time searching for a solution so forgive me if I've missed it.
I've just installed DVD shrink on my new PC and it's having problems: when I run the software everything works fine, it analyses disk ok, but when I hit 'back up' the program stalls for a few moments and then exits.
I know the details here are pretty minimal but I'm not sure where to start with troubleshooting this. I've tried a few basic things (i.e. different DVD, different DVD drive (I have 2 in my system) etc)
thoughts?
Thank you
Michael

Try ripping your discs with DVDFab HD Decrypter and then try DVD Shrink.
When you click on backup, where are the files going to? Is it another folder or is it going to another drive?
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Tried your suggestion, it had no impact on my problem.
Tried opening file created by DVD fab with DVD shrink same problem:
When I click back up I don't get option to select save location. DVD shrink just halts and then after a while quits.
Any further suggestions to help me with this? It did the same thing to me ages ago on another desktop but it worked on my laptop so I'd rip with the lappy and copy to desktop to burn. A pain, but it worked. Don't have that lappy anymore.

Yea, it was one of the first things I did.
Unfortunately issue remains the same.
I also had the same issue on my old desktop which was a completely different machine running XP (SP2 iirc).
Any ideas to resolve it appreciated. I'm using DVDFab but the quality of compressed DVD appears to be much worse.

I too have recently come across this same problem. Everything was working fine, have used it on about 50+ movies then all of a sudden one day I go to burn a movie and the software just freezes when I select to Backup and after about a minute it just shuts down. No error codes or anything.
Thanks in advance

No, I am still using IE7. The problem doesn't make any sense. Was literally working one day and not the next.
Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance

As above, I have tried fresh install. I'm really looking to see if anyone has any real insights on what the problem might be. Everything standard I have tried and simply can't explain why it works on one PC yet not on 2 others when they're all running same OS.
I've tried DVD fab but the shrinked DVD quality is crap compared to the quality I was getting from DVD shrink so I'm keen to get the software up and running again if at all possible.

In Shrinks preferences, click on the File I/O tab. If Enable burning with Nero is checked, try unchecking it.
