i just bought a monster hd cable for ps3 and when i set the display on the ps3 to 1080i my screen has a green tint, the tint seems to disappear if lower the color but then it just looks dull. the tv i have does not have an hdmi hook up but it does have component, and has the ability to broadcast 1080i. ithink it might be the cable because it was very inexpensive and instead of the fourth cable being white it's solid blue which ive never seen before. if anyone can help me with this problem i would really appreciate it since i am ready to break one of these at this point.

Get sony's component cable for the ps3 if anything; its a sure thing.

It sounds like you've got problems with the connectors, clean the ends and inputs of the composite connection with a q-tip and a dab of rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover. Remember to clean the outside and not just the inside the input.

You should be using RGB, Red, Green an Blue Component Cables.
Those 3 connections are the video. You need to have those 3 hooked up in order to get the proper picture.
If you hook them up in the wrong order, you get that problem your describing.
If your TV doesnt have HDMI or DVI or RGB(Red, Green, Blue) Connectors on it, then I don't think your going to get HD.

Yep, sounds like you have one cable plugged in incorrectly or missing.

I don't actually think its the cables now because i just got my cable tv hooked up and it has the same problem on 1080i that the ps3 does, so it must be a problem with the tv its a Mitsubishi ws-55809.

Hey, I might be able to help. I know my HDTV has a menu option to change the input from RGB to the other format, and that might do it. Otherwise, double check the video cables; I know you said the cable guy did it for you, but they don't always know what they're doing.

I have checked and double checked all the cables and I am positive they are hooked up correctly, but still the same problem. I have gone through all the menus on my tv and cannot seem to find a solution through that route either.

Now that I have spent more time observing the screen it does seem like any type of light or white colors are the ones showing up green, and some other colors do show up but the green just overpowers them.

I had a problem where I would get a green "splash" every now and then on my screen when using HDMI. Tried a new cable and it fixed everything so far. Might try a different cable and see if that is your problem.
