Hi all I'm trying to put my ps3 online , can do a wired connection no problem but I can only play the ps3 or use the internet one or the other not both at once.As soon as I do the wired connection I have to remove my ether cable and the internet goes off but I can play the ps3.

I have the bog standard netgear (sky broadband) router and when I scan for a signal it recognises it 100% strength but asks for my WPA key which I don't know.

Anyone know how or where to find it please ?

if this is actually a serious question... lol...

Anyways, you, or someone you live with, would have set the WPA password for your router. SO you will need to either find the password, or get it from who set it up. If you have a laptop (which I assume you do since you have a wireless router) you had to have the password in the laptop in order for it to connect wirelessly. So use the same password, type it in the ps3, and there you go

Open Internet explorer and then type in the address bar: 192.168.0.1 then press enter.

Username will be admin
Password is you have updated the firmware will be sky if that downt work try password, or you own password you've added.

In the menu on the left click Wireless Settings

You will also need the SSID this is at the top of the page.

At the bottom of the page you will see something like WPA-PSK+WPA2-PSK Security Encryption but the WPA-PSK+WPA2-PSK bit may be different depending how you've set it up.
Here it will say Network Key and the that is the WPA Key you are looking for.

This is all assuming you have encryption on, sometimes people forget to add it as ISPs that give you free routers do not enable wireless security. If it is not enabled it is recommended that you do asap!
If this is the case then select either WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK or both, then fill in the Network Key with anything you want.

Hmm, could be the firewall in the router, you'll have to set it to allow the PS3 through.

Also you may want to update the firmware, its not necessary but makes the router more stable.
