HI my PS3 is missing the white plastic circular thing that is used to spin and hold down the dvd or game it is located inside the dvd drive. Where can i get a new one?
Well I bought it for 75$ broken and the guy didn't tell me that part ws missing now I am looking to buy a new one to replace it I have a dvd drive I am not using can I se the one from that.
Well I'm in the same predicament.
I got shipped a PS3 missing some screws and the magnetic holder, the guy said he'd mail me the missing parts (he did have them, he forgot to ship them with the PS3). Got a letter today with an apology from the postmaster. Seems the envelope broke open and all the parts spilled out.
With the PS3 working now (that I can tell, it does spin the disc somewhat uncontrollably), all I need now is a magnetic head.
I've opened two CD-ROM drives that weren't in working order to try and salvage one that would work. I got close on one, but it's still not the correct one. I'm certain this thing needs the correct magnet, or at least one with the correct placement, size, and magnet strength.
I'm in search of one at the moment, someone please let me know if one is available. I will reply back if I find one on teh cheap.
you can get one from a car stereo the slot type, a friend of mine was in the same predicament as you and took out the stereo in his car to find the part. ps3 now spins and reads discs properly.
OK I don't have access to a car stereo any where else. This guy that fixes xbox 360's said he would take a look at it and see if he had any extra parts that might work he also knows how to tweak the laser is it any different trying to tweak the PS3's laser.
