Hello!

Does anybody know can i connect the computer and to PS3 between without the router?

I don´t have router or internet connection. I just wanna listen music and watch pictures through computer -> PS3

No. But, you can get a hard wired router very cheap at walmart.

You could get a 2nd NIC card for the PC, hook the ps3 to that port and enable connection sharing on the PC.

Honestly it would be a lot easier to buy a cheap wireless router for like 30 bucks though, eventually you likely will need a router anyway.

All you need to connect them together is a RJ-45 crossover cable. You could use this for the pinouts.

Once you have the crossover cable connecting the two, you'll need to configure some things so just use a /24 subnet mask (255.255.255.0) and then for the default gateway use 192.168.1.0 since it won't be used anyway. For the IP address of your PC, put 192.168.1.1 and for the PS3 you can use 192.168.1.2. (or get creative because you have 1-254 as your address block)

If you're having problems understanding the IP addresses, try an article about crossover networking or just try it yourself and ask here so we can work through it.

You'd need a program to connection share the wireless connection or to set up an Ad-Hoc wireless connection. This would be more difficult but it's possible to set up a wireless to wireless connection. Search the net for a good guide.

A friend of mine is in a similar predicament. His router just died. He wants to connect his PS3 to his pc wirelessly then run his wired coonection to his pc. Will this work?

I think you should be able to set up the PC as Ad hoc and then connect the PS3 to that.
