To be honest, theres no real GOOD deal, its pretty level. You can buy a special deal online, save $5 to $10 maybe more. BUT!!!!!!!! you need to ensure u get MIS=Made in Singapore. Beautifull country by the way , visited when I was in the service.

Your best off buying from BEST buy, cause they have 8x & 2x, some for 15 pack others 20 pack.
Atleast you can guarantee u get MIS, cause online they ship as is.

DO what is right vs doing what is easy.

I buy the 50 pack at Sam's Club.
With tax that evens out to about 64 bucks/50 disks is $1.28 a disk.
But that's only a good idea if you already have a membership.

XBOX Halo Ed. = DuoX2 w/250gb HD
Xbox 360 Red Elite 120GB HDD = no-stealth 1.6 & XBReboot V3 & 1TB usb hdd
PS2 Slim = freemcboot v1.8 - PSP Black Slim = 5.00m33-6
Wii = w/ Blue XCM ii-case, Wiikey2 & softmodded

Check this site out, pretty cool info, unusual that Verbatim is not listed unless its a diff name technically.

newegg generally has some good deals. Like the last time I purchased from them I got a 2-pack (15 per pack) legitimate MIS for like $48 with free shipping and a $12 mail in rebate. So once I get my rebate back I will have paid $36 total for 30 verbatim dvd-r dl MIS which is a pretty good deal comparatively.

I checked those out and they appear to be the 2.4x which I think are made in Indonesia. Not to rain on your parade and you can correct me if I'm wrong. As far as I know the true made in Singapore good quality Verbatim dual layers come in the 15 pack (I've seen the 30 pack 8x-10x, but I'm not sure if they're MIS or not) and are 8x-10x.

Correct me if im wrong, but does a DISC with higher burning speeds make it MORE durable?

Regardless I never go over 4x, but just curious if so.

ANd yes the 8x 15 pack I have only seen are MIS. I have yet to see any 20 pack MIS. which those are mostly the 2.5x

yes the ones at sams club are MII, however, i've burnt 150+ of them and have yet to have a coaster, so all the hype about them being crap is really a bunch of BS in my opinion.

The Verb's I've gotten at Sam's Club are MIS. They have the MII ones there too but I search through the boxes and find the MIS ones. But I have to agree with you. I'm really starting to think it's a bunch of blown up hype so I'll buy the MII ones if I don't have a choice in the future.

Just check all the stores around you every week and see when the come on sale. You get a great deal when that happens. I didnt research that, and i paid $29.99 for a 20 pack MIS, and after taxes and shipping it was around $52. I then looked at my local stores website and saw the on sale for $22 for the same 20 pack MIS. So I went to the store and bought a pack. It was $25 out the door. Just got the $52 discs from online today..... Man that was a p*ssoff.

From what I've read (from more than one source) the MIS discs are identified as MKM 003 while the MII discs are MKM 001 and there is a legitimate quality difference between the two. Verbatim outsourced the MII or MKM 003 discs to a different company. You can read about it here . I'm not saying the MII discs are certainly going to fail and in reality they are probably better than a lot of cheap knock off brands, but they still aren't the same quality as the MIS discs, at least at this time.

Well I buy mine from SamsClub since like CopperKid said its only $64 after tax, but if you have to get a membership thats $40,but thats for a whole year not just month to month so I think thats a great deal. Since BestBuy will sell you a 20 pack for about $45. Hell you buy 2 packs from BestBuy and thats more money and less disc.

lol, I can admit I download games, and save massive, not regular, massive $. And your complaining on $40 , $60, when thats for 15 to 20 or more disc?

One game runs $60 out the door, and your having the ability to save more then $500 from a pack of 10 or more.

ROFL, I guess the economy must really be a burden for those in the modding biz looking for CHEAP verbs, maybe you should get another modder, and split the price on a pack of verbs?

Its like that phrase from Shawshank redemption

back to the topic, yes i agree with you we all want to get what is the cheapest out. thats how you survive in life, so its a legitimate question. however, even if you were doing this legally, these guys are right instead of spending 120$ on 2 copys of halo 3, you spend 60$ for the game and 2.50$ for the back-up. so sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. but again, try not to be so harsh, its a good question to ask. i have been checking this thread often myself to see if i can get a better deal than what i currently do.

Just because I dident quite no were to look but now I do, but thanks for all the great input guys.

Well I have a Samy drive and I rent games from GameFly for about a year already. I know what you are thinking that cost alot of money well heres how to save $. I have a guy I buy from on ebay. Its a 2month sub. for about $6(2 games out @ a time). He emails you the code then you use it. Every 2 months I just buy another one and use that. Just remember to cancel your subscription @ least a day before the day they charge you so you wont pay for the next month($23). Also you have to use a different email address to use another 2month free cuz its for 1st time renters. I just backup the game, make sure it works good and ship it back. They usually receive it in 3-5days & ship you the next game in you GameQ.

Also another way to keep the origional is wait 10 days call them stating you havent received your game in the mail(they will just put it down as lost in the mail and put it back in your GameQ). Just log on to your account and delete the game out of your GameQ. You can do this for about 2 or maybe 3 games.

Good way to keep the Games you REALLY want(wink wink)

Dude you might want to click that little edit button and pretty much erase everything you just typed. I think they frown on the admission of fraud around here. Just a heads up.
