Yes I "googled it" and found lots of opinions.

What is the hard drive of choice here at the afterdawn community? I searched here and didn't find too many threads on the topic

I was looking at THIS Hard Drive

What are you thoughts, opinions and sites for best deals..

Theres no real better HDD besides brand preference, as long as it is a 2.5 sata @ 5400rpm there's more or less no difference outside of capacity.

Well thats not entirely true, if you've got a lot of money to blow and want top of the line you could look into a SSD, it should theoreticly increase load times of games with installs drastically, lower the heat of the console and also lower actual install time of the games. That said they cost a pretty penny and I think 60gb's is as large as they come atm that is compatible with the ps3.

I once read that the max size that could be used was 160gb. So thats not true?

No thats false, no one has run into a capacity cap yet and theres 500gb hard drives out now thats compatible.
