@axe97
well that's what I've read on other forums and sites. I think the games that you burn on DVD-5s are compressed. But correct me if i'm wrong.

no, they arent compressed. Only Super smash bros can be "compressed" from a dvd9 to a dvd5. But will everthing be ok with my wii?

Oh, ok, thanks for clearing that up^^
yeah everything will be fine, don worry.
My Wii makes loud clicking noises as well, and I've been playing for ages using backups and nothing bad has happened to it.

Can someone give me a hand here. I just got the HomeBrew Channel installed tonight, V9 beta. I have WadManager 1.3 installed and working as well. Thats where I set at the moment. My wii has version 3.3u firmware.

I want to get the wiigator3 (gamma is it?) installed and working.

But im not sure what i have to do in regards to which files I should get and how to installt hem. I read the instructions and tryed them, but they are partially for people who havnt had HBC installed yet. The wadmanager in those files is older than what I have and also when I go into it to install the cIOS and Wigater it give me an error.

So are there some files I need that are different because I already have HBC 9 and WadManager 1.3 installed?

I tried in powerISO but it says that the file format is invalid.

thanks it worked
but when I try loading it in the backup launcher I get an error
(I am using a dvd+rw could that be it?)
Don't use RW media, it won't work. Use DVD-Rs. I use Verbatim DVD-Rs, and burn at 4x with IMGBurn, works perfect always.

Everyone should use the new Backup Loader 0.3 GAMMA Version, it works better and has higher backup compatability^^
alright thanks!
do I have to uninstall the old loader? or will the new version just overwrite it?

@farmboy25
The new version will not overwrite anything, because it launches straight from your SD Card using Homebrew Channel.

Hi. 3.3 gives errors in installation of WADS. 3.2 is the most compatible in my opinion so downgrade to 3.2U using this guide: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/686800
To make the GAMMA loader work, you need to have cIOS36 Rev 7 installed.

3.3 firmware before the Oct. 23rd update will install WAD files perfectly fine. So saying 3.3 will give you errors is not completely true.

@lib

If you had a previous boot loader version and used an older cIOS version with it you will need to uninstall the old cIOS before installing the new Custom IOS36 rev 07 (w/ backup support) for WiiGator 0.3 gamma.

Also if you have updated your Wii System Oct 23rd then you will need to use the Oct 23rd work around to downgrade your Wii so you can get WAD instillation functionality back.

Also along with my above question, do you have to patched a backup ISO as to not brick your wii?

Try going HERE and follow the steps I give in the thread. Use the files that I have linked when doing it.

As for patching the ISO all you should do is use WiiBrickBlocker on it to disable all game updates.

Nope the Oct 23rd update was still 3.3 firmware and it blocked the instillation of WAD/cIOS files. More then likely you have the Oct. 23rd update.

Can you install any other WAD file?

If not you can try following this guide HERE to get wad/cISO files to install properly (you might want to skip the step that says to update to latest firmware).

HBC Beta 9 installer was compatible with the Oct. 23rd update.

But if you can not install any WAD files or cIOS at all then more then likely it is the Oct. 23rd update blocking it.

If you can install other WAD files then I have no idea what to tell you.

Either you have the Oct. 23rd update.

Or you have a previous cIOS installed that is conflicting with the new rev 7 cIOS.

Have you installed any other type of applications like DVDx? if so try uninstalling that as well.

If I do that downgrade you listed, do I have to do the optional step as well? or is what listed about that sufficient.

As well after al this do I then go and update cIOS to Rev7?
