hi,

i have a ps3 i think its the jap version as the x-o are the wrong way round meaning i have to press o to enter things instead of the x is there anyway in the system you can change this back

It is possible for the PSP, but that is only because custom firmware has been introduced. I don't think custom firmware is available for the PS3 and therefore you're unable to change the button configurations.

Why do the japanese consoles have different button configurations?

Because in japan they dont use ticks and crosses for marking etc. They use circle's (MARU) for correct, and crosses (Batsu) for incorrect. So it makes sense if you think of it that way.

hm, food for thought. But isn't that kinda the same in north America as well? Also why would they bother changing it from place to play anyway?
