Xbox 360 will outsell PS3 for the holidays, says Microsoft

In an interview with Kotaku, Aaron Greenberg, group product manager for Xbox 360 has said that the company is confident it's console will outsell the rival Sony PlayStation 3 for the holiday season, worldwide.
"We expect to continue our price advantage over the PlayStation 3 for a long time," said Greenberg.

but on the article Aaron Greenberg, group product manager should be Aaron Greenberg, Captain Obvious, its like saying that dvds are gonna sell more then blu ray discs this christmas. this a pointless article that states obvious facts next they gonna report the wii doesn't meet consumer demands and the ds is gonna sell more then the psp this christmas.

Your right the 360 does have a lot of good games but with the RROD if/when your machine breaks you cant play them because your machine is out getting fixed. So whats the point of having it if you cant play. I want a 360 but I am waiting till the problems are fixed. Just like most people I am not wasting my money on something I cant use.

I have had the elite for more than a year...without a problem , before that i had xbox 360 and again never had prob with rrod.

dude another one come on you guys sound like a bunch of broke pansies. i got both xbox and ps3 and a bunch of blu rays that im getting rid of some and my ps3 still sits on the shelf collecting dust the last real good game i played on it was resistance and all you ps3 fanboys be real about it ps3 is shit compared to xbox blu rays you could only watch so many times games they dont got any,online play is wack compared to live dont come here with that bogus red ring of death shit either you are broke or you bought the wrong system but dont come out with that nonsense xbox work just fine and if not they will fix it so get over it

Why does anyone care about which one sells more. I like the PS3 better so that is the one I have. If you like the 360 better get that one. People are always bragging about the great games for their system, so why is everyone in here talking about them instead of playing them.

i own all 3 consoles but i just play my 360 more than any of the others because live is less laggy for me and i find it easier to hook up with my friends and play, whatever you choose is your own personal preference.. Sony is losing exclusives which means multi-platform releases so be happy because now you have more choices because that's what we need.

Oh please... Stop your crappy comments and go play with your Xbox. The only thing you did right is buying all three consoles. Exclusives? Little Big Planet alone will attract new PS3 owners (sack boy Mario or even Halo? you can't put a price on creativity, too bad that my beta expired). Resistance 2 and Killzone for those with trigger happy. God of War III? Hell, if Sony makes a red PS3 and charge $600 for it, i'll buy it in a heartbeat.
I like my X360 as well, after one RRoD episode, i'm all good (so far). The only console i haven't power on for a while is the Wii.
Price-wise, the X360 is quite attractive. However, the cheapest price is the one w/o HDD, which, ironically, the most expensive one in the long run. Like most you said, it's captain obvious that more people will buy the X360 for the holiday, well, face it, it's cheaper, duh!

I think with the substantial price cuts MS have put in. I really would be surprised if ps3 beat 360.
Also now bluray players are cheaper than the ps3 thats going to hurt ps3 sales bad.

Ok, I am going to be quick, I don't really care which one sells the most, cause like most ppl I know, I have them both already. And as far as which one sells If it is the XBOX (just because ppl buy it dose not make it good) "so what" If YOU have them, either play it it or if you don't...go get the other, I don't want or have a Wii, When I was a child I played childish game (mario) but now I am grown )Now, I play big boy games.(Tekken, Master Chief (HALO), LBP, Gears of War, Socom, COD4
I think both systems are ok, But I lean more to sony, I like the way they do bussiness, The Box may be cheaper at first but look at the monthly fee I have to pay, and the limited selection of games (yeah they have a lot....but whats really good) and then the luanch of the NXE v.s PS Home, Still spending,

$199 for a Xbox 360, you can't beat that. Especailly with the insane game lineup the 360 is having right now. So I agree with Microsoft I think they will outsell the PS3, their price is just to much to resist even for people who are holding out because of the non-issue of the RROD. Those new arcades that are being sold right now are very less likely to fail, and by the time those who are holding out on a purchase finally do make a purchase this gen will be over. I'm enjoying my 360 like never before.

The game lineup of the 360 is lightyears ahead of that of the PS3. It's no surprise that XBox will outsell the PS3. Sony need to stop being so soft on Japanese game developers. First they lost devil may cry, then FF13, they almost lost MGS4. The Japanese RPG selection is much better for the 360 than it is on the PS3. Sony's own incompetence will lead to their downfall. The 360's online community is top-notch; sony and especially nintendo don't come even close. I have a PS3 and all it's been good for is watching blu-ray movies and MGS4. Give me more games Sony.

None of the PS3 exclusives have a graphically superior version on PC. Folks who are really "all about the games" have already realized this and play them on their PCs instead of burning rings into 60 dollar muli-disk inferior versions.

Well that goes the same for Xbox360 exclusives. But the only problem with PC is that not everybody has the money nor patience to keep upgrading their PC to continually keep it playing to its max. Also not everybody likes to sit up close on their chair and use a keyboard and mouse. Others prefer the comfort of their couches and big screen TVs etc. But im sure folks who are really "all about the games" have realized this as well.

I'm starting to thing Microsoft isn't in it for the money b/c they have probably lost so much already due to the defective consoles and such, that even selling their consoles at a much lower price wouldn't totally help regain their loses. I think they just want to beat Sony in the number of console sales and such, regardless of the money. Also lowering the price will help increase the sales of 360 exclusive games and also attract more customers are undecided on which console to buy.

good job on MS part...... Whats up with Sony PS2 was and still is an excellent system wich put sony on top and now i have a PS3 just to watch bluray movies and play only ps3 exclusives.
