ps3 blueray movie and game ripping

I am very new to the ps3 world. I have two questions if you can answer please.

1) I have some blue ray movies. Is there a way to backup up the movies using the ps3? Like can I burn it to the hdd and play it from there? Can Itransfer that rip and create an iso and burn it on blank blue rays?

2) same questions for the games.

I've HEARD that you can use it to burn BDs if you've got a Linux OS installed.

You can copy the BDs onto the PS3 hard drive, but you won't be able to burn it using the PS3 because, obviously, the PS3 isn't capable of burning.

So:

1.) Copy, yes. Burn, no. You'd need another computer with a BD burner.

Ok so let me see if i got you.

You can rip blu-ray to the ps3
You can play the rip from the ps3 hdd
You cant burn the rip from the ps3

Can I transfer that rip to my pc and burn it on my pc?

Also please link me to a guide or give me the steps because I really am lost on this.
