Depends on what you do with the PC really, a quad core is likely to be more futureproof, and some games do make good use of it, but if you're not a cutting edge gamer, a dual core will suffice.

Also, I know that graphics card is a bit dated but will it do me any good to sli?

Unless it is possible to SLI two different cards (It's not is it?), you'd be better off buying a mid-range new card (Ie. the 3850 if that 4850 was too expensive for you.)

yea, sli is usually good for high res monitors above 1650x1080. so unless you have a big monitor, sli will not give a big increase in games.

Two 7800GTXs in SLI still won't even match an 80 dollar card, the HD4670.
