Please be gentle, as I am new to the PS3 as of this weekend. Very impressed so far with the kit, but am wanting to set it up to do more than just play games and movies.
I have successfully networked the box and want to share all of the media on my PC. I have managed to get the mp3's recognised (although navigating through them is a bit clonky), but am having no luck with pictures or video. When I go into these, there are no folders shown, although I know that they exist on the Vista machine, and are being shared.
I know it's probably something very simple that I've missed, but I can't for the life of me find out what it is.
Sorry that no one has replied to you. I set mine up a long time ago. First time around, I had not Selected my Photo's on my Vista server as something that I wanted to share. So they did not show up. Later, I noticed that new songs and pictures that I added to my PC shared folder did not show up on the PS3. Found that I had to go into the PC media server and refresh the Shared folder in it. This may not be any help. If not, hope someone else will give some input.
PS. Im sure you have already done it but be sure that your PS3 Media Server Enable is selected on each format (music, video, pictures) and in the System setup.
It turns out that it was me being stupid. Although I had music, video and photos shared to the PS3 in the Media Server setup, the photo and video folders were not in the search path for media to be added to WMP11 in the first place. D'oh!!
Anyway, it's now working fine. So that'll be time for me to start messing with Tversity and VLC now . . . . . . .
