So I'm not a frequenter of this section, but just thought I would ask.
What is the point of having all the isos of ps3 games on newsgroups for download? Is it just in the event that an iso loader IS developed, that people could use it for games they already have?
Other than that, I'm not really sure if I see a reason for it. Could any of you who know more about that enlighten me?

That's just about it, I guess another reason could be that people think there might be a way to hack it through a game like with the PSP but Sony isn't going to fall for that again.
But yeah its pretty much pointless, but with the constant rumors of iso loaders always coming out next week (which never happen) I guess some people might upload or download an iso thinking that there's an actual way to use them. But, of course there never is.

Now that you mention it, it really has been; I usually just ignore them but I haven't seen anything pop up in a month or so.
Hopefully this means that these so called hacker groups have stopped making fakes to get their 15 mins of fame. I guess its kind of like the boy who cried wolf at this point, but there still is no wolf and likely wont be or a long time.
Actually, I managed to get a PS3 .iso file to work on my PS5.
Totally.
But what was it... the most recent thing I remember was about some group managing to dump some sort of files... or something. And that those files were part of the PS3's security... or something. Very concise, I know.
