slight problem here folks ,i want to watch videos on you tube through the ps3 ,i get sound and picture icons but no video playback,,do i have to install a vewer version of javascript??if so how do i update/install this

You need to turn javascript on.
Press triangle when in the ps3 internet browser to bring up the menu then go to the top option click X then enable javascript.
Btw sorry i cant remember the menu names havent been on my ps3 in a while as its broken...
Erm.. I think theres an option in the systems menu to turn on your flash player.. Try that and see if it works although I'm sure this should've already been turned on if you were previously able to view videos.
Youtube started testing out higher resolution videos in november and adding &fmt=18 or &fmt=6 will increase the resolution slighty, from 320x240 to 448x336, it will also give better audio and sometime fix some sync issuses with the vids. The higher res videos are MP4 encoded which is more compatible with ps3 then the usual FLV flash video format.
