PS3 Can Not Play BluRay Movies

I recently bought the new 80GB PS3. It loads PS3 games and DVDs without any issues, but it can not load BluRay movies. The PS3 menu can read what the movie is, but I get a blank screen when I press play. I am using a HDMI cable to connect to my TV.

I can not return it because my 30 day return policy has already ended.

Any ideas what is causing the problem?

You bought it new. You have a 1 year warranty with Sony no mater what. Contact Sony service. They will send you a box to ship it off in. No cost, they will repair it or send you a new one.

If it has not ever worked for you, be aware that there is separate video settings for BD Movie playback under systems settings. You may want to run through those setting and check them out before returning it.
