Yeah, this seems like DATED news to me...I already HAVE the update!
It's nice they got real Flash 9 support instead of the Flash 5/6-compatible GNASH piece of crap that didn't work on most sites. I wish they'd support more QuickTime (and not just generic MPEG-4/H.264) and maybe even RealMedia. At least now I can order (crappy) pizza online using the PS3 browser! ;-)
Sequential video playback ftw! Finally. Well, if it was already released in 2.5, then I guess I just haven't looked into it yet. Great for those with a large 500GB fat32 external drive large movies split in 4GB chunks!
Quick question about the updates. I use my PS3 to view videos on youtube because my computer is so old it doesn't do this well. I have had no problems doing this it was really great....until now. Videos that I use to watch, I can no longer see the clip but I can hear the audio. Is this due to a recent update?! Just wanted to know if anyone new. Thanks in advance.

I've run across a few videos online that only play audio, but not YouTube. If anything, FW 2.50+ should play any Flash-based video BETTER since it's now Flash 9 compatible. Some Flash-heavy sites might cause problems, though...I haven't checked.
