i think that everyone here knows this already but i'm new at this so. I just wanted to know if i can save a game in the ps3 so that i don't need the cd anymore. blue ray disc and save the game to the ps3

I said exactly what help i needed in a thread and not one person responded so what help is it really? Not to complain, as i understand that I'm not paying you or anything (ad revenue aside)but lets not pretend that making a thread title easy to understand will necesarily get people to, you know, be helpful and stuff! I see more responses telling people what they can and cannot put up rather than actual helpful comments, such as okthens response!

1.) Your point is? I've personally started dozens of threads that have had very understandable titles and haven't had any responses to them. What should that tell you? That people either don't know or don't care. In either case, you should take matters into your own hands and do some (more if you haven't already) scouring through the web.
2.) okthen's response answered the question perfectly. Maybe you're just not looking hard enough.

1.) A backup (of a game) is precisely that - a backup. You copy the contents of the disc onto another storage device so that in case your original gets blown to Kingdom Come or something, you'll have a copy in reserve. (Or, conversely, you use the copy so as to avoid the original getting blown in the first place.)
2.) Yes, but with the addition of what I said in #1.
3.) If you'd read the thread that okthen pointed out, you'd know that "PS3 Backups as of 05/08 CANNOT be played yet."
So yeah. No way to save games to the PS3 HDD and play from there.
