Basically the title; please don't flame: I did use the search function and found a couple of threads on the topic, but I'm not sure about it.
I found SOME torrents for Xbox 360 and PS3 games, but I'm not sure if it's possible to actually download, upload, and play PS3 games on the PS3 analogous to the actions above with the PSP.

No you cant im afraid.
Although there are lots of games on newsgroups (alt.bineries.console.ps3) in CASE the ps3 ever gets chipped...

Nope. I hope that the PS3 will never get hacked. I hacked my PSP, it's really great but the games coming out for it... Blah.
The 360 can be modded and it still has great games which is weird.
Anyway, if the PS3 could be modded, devs might get lazy and make games that are crap.

Which is one of the many reasons why I hope the PS3 doesn't get hacked, its one of the main things going for it from a developer's point of view.

Sony have got things spot on with the ps3 in terms of hacking. Mainly people who want to hack consoles for piracy reasons copy other hackers work. The other hackers do it for fun to see what can be done like running linux and custom software, since you can run linux without too much hassle then there is nothing to copy off and nobody can hack it. Plus the fact that blu ray burners are expensive and disks are about £7 each, expensive coasters if one goes wrong!
Microsoft have done well this time ive had a 360 since launch and for the first year I spent about £3500 on games but then realised you can get them flashed, this hasnt stopped sales of games either and kept it going.
Look at the psp release schedule and you will see how badly hacking has had an effect on that system, nobody releases games because they know there will be no profit from it, which is why sony are adding all these things like tv and sat nav to it and keep on bringing new ones out.
On another note, m$ sales figures for the 360 are massivly inflated because there are literally millions of the sales which are 2nd or 3rd consoles for people who had to get another one due to rrod or a console ban. So they are not doing as well as they like you to think.

It was like "proof of concept" type of thing but it did work didn't it?

IMO they have never made a game worth paying $35-40 on the PSP, even to the point where its not worth it to spend time downloading a game just to find out its crap. I find its mostly the control layout for the psp that's the problem, its far too twitchy and awkward to play any kind of shooter partially due to the lack of a 2nd analog. I don't regret buying a psp, I use mine primarily as a mp3 player, videos for a long trip or waiting for my turn to run/throw at track, and as an external hard drive for the ps3 (8gig memory stick).

There have been dozens of these spoofs by fake hackers trying to get their 15 minutes of fame, none of which have added up to anything. Thankfully no one has tried another spoof in the last month or two, imo because of the boy who cried wolf scenario.

hmm even if the PS3 was exploitable like the psp Do you think it worth it to download a 25-50gb game? Not to mention future games like MG5 will be on a 160gb Blu-ray disc. And says there a way to load iso from the HDD on the ps3 or external HDD a 500gb HDD (The max the PS3 can detect due to Fat32) (Which is still quite costy in a way) can only hold 10-20games most. Then you gotta have multiple hdd. It'll be a pain the the arse for the PS3 iso/back ups scene though it might be possible. And one thing the scene is developing slowly is because the cost of a PS3 is still alot for developers to keep on risking and bricking $400 machine. The only thing I want from the PS3 is ability to emulate PS2 on the non BC models =p now that sounds more realistic task.

Let me clear up a little confusion. The PS3 does not use the FAT32 system. It is a custom system made by SONY. Videos have been shown of files larger than 4 gigs being written to the HDD and back.
As far as wanting to see this system hacked with iso loaders, no, but a linux distro with full access to the cell and RSX would be sweet.

Not sure if I read your post properly but I'm pretty sure that if the PS3 was hacked, we'd use Blu-Ray discs instead of downloading it into the HDD.

Trust me, if the PS3 gets hacked, be it chip or otherwise, developers won't get lazy and stop making games. Are you kidding me? I havn't seen the figures but I know that I am the only individual with a mod chip in probably my whole town. I've essentially been "underground" for years, so I know the trade, but most people don't understand the metrics behind such modifications. They cannot source the components (the chip), they do not possess the knowledge to install it (soldering) or get it installed (sent to canada or otherwise) and know where to get or dump the games (newsgroups). Most people would "love" free games but once you factor in the hassle and the learning curve its easier to just buy the games for most. I would guess that the % of individuals with modded consoles (for now, lets say xbox360,wii,psp and NDS via flash carts) is in the single digits, and guess what, most of the people who obtain said goods online or ultimately for "free" wouldn't have bought the items in the first place.
That said, I AM waiting for the ps3 to be hacked so I can load off the HDD like the good ol' days.

If the PS3 needed a hardmod it wouldnt be such an issue but if it ws just a simple soft mod like the PSP I could see it doing some damage. There use to be only 1 kid in my entire school who doesn't have a CFW psp and that's just because he doesn't play games on it.
And a lot of ps3 games have hdd installs anyway so you likely wouldn't notice a huge difference.
