hello, I am terribly sorry if there is already a thread for this, but i had to ask. I am wondering if someone can help me in converting movies to divx format? I have some movies i have downloaded in the past, and they would have a divx "logo" in the bottom right corner of the screen, and it works great with my PS3. so I went and got myself divx pro, it came with divx creator, but i have yet to have it work, i have tried with total video converter, converting into divx/avi, I think it is converting into avi there on TVC, but the file format is not supported on my PS3, neither is the outcome of the final conversion of the divx creator I have, I am stumped. what I do not understand is that the divx movies I do have, as long as they have that divx "logo" down there, my PS3 supports it. This is my reason for this cry for help, I am trying to store movies on my HDD on my PS3 so I do not have to keep burning lost/stolen copies, so is there anyone that can help me get that divx "logo" on there, it is only on the screen for a mere 2-3 seconds, but what ever it is, it is supported on my console, help please, gets frustrating trying everything you have. Thank you guys/girls for the time reading another one of my long drawn out topics, I appreciate all the help I can get, Thank You! ohhh, and mpeg4 are supported on my PS3 as well, i have the 80GB PS3, i am desperately looking for that divx program to put that official logo on there, it responds well to those
The video file doesn't necessarily have to use the DivXcodec. The reason why the new DivX avis you're making don't work is because the DivXcodec version they're using is probably not supported by the PS3. That or the settings on the codec make it incompatible with the PS3.
If you want, you can use AviSynth + MeGUI to re-encode your videos to a PS3-compliant DivX stream.
