Yes, though your contrast ratio is a little low. And yes it is 720p.

My monitor has a low contrast ratio, but it is still better than standard def. Everything should work fine for you, just make sure it has a HDMI or DVI port on it.

bujuju....

Technically 1080p has more than twice the amount pixels that 720p has, so yes they technically look different. As far as wether you can tell the difference is up to you to decide.

1080p = max pixels of 1920x1080 = 2073600 pixels total.
720p = max pixels of 1280x720 = 921600 pixels total.

1080p has 2.25x the amount of pixels found in 720p.

Keep in mind not everyone can tell the difference. And I'm talking about the source material, not your tv's native resolution.

My PS3 has never overheated. Just keep it somewhere where it has good air circulation (somewhere open) and it will be just fine. Even if the PS3 does manage to get overheated, it would usually shut itself off before the heat could cause any damage. As for the NTSC or PAL, i don't think it matters when it comes to Blu-ray and PS3 games, it would only matter when it comes to standard movie DVD's and PS3 games. The region denotes where you bought the PS3. There are different regions such as North America, Europe, Asia and so on. This would dictate whether the PS3 would be PAL or NTSC, i think. Also, depending on your region, that is where it would needed to be serviced if anything ever goes wrong. If you bought a PS3 in Asia, I don't think you could get it fixed in North America or Europe. You would need to have it sent the region where it was bought, which could cause some high shipping back and forth. I hope i answered all your questions, though, i'm not sure how correct i am on all my points. Anyone is free to correct me, so i can learn too :)

I think you mean standard dvd's and PS2 games. Also the games themselves arent region locked but usually online is. Meaning if you buy a PAL console it will connect you to PAL servers, and the same thing goes for NTSC. At least I think that's how it worked, its been awhile since I had to explain it.

you have good lcd for your PS3, but full HD 42" would be the best for games
