well if it says bad signal, thats got to be it

make sure your lead is wired up correct and in the replay properly - re wire if necessary, to test

is the scart fully pushed in, check all connections

thats all i can think of, as signal prob is not a flashing prob, i dont think

i have checked all the connections and scanned and got all channels first time. it was grand till i flashed with the 09122008 software. should i flashed with 742a then 752 then 910 and then with the new software? sky premiere is grand but sky sports keeps sayin bad signal then scrambled and then coming back on but skipping. a lot of channels have come up tv ch in the channel list

a lot of the channels are in TV Channel - you have to find them and rename and move, if you want

well - i havent heard any probs with this upgrade, so up to you - anything worth a shot lol

sorry i cant help further

you could always do a factory reset and try again

did you save your orig config to the pc?

not sure on that, as am not an expert

but think if u untick user data, you will deffo have to rescan

i know before the previous 910 in april ish time, had to put the 752 on first and then the 910 - and all i know is, the current one, just went on top and the user data was left ticked, though if u untick, think will have to rescan, am only guessing

have u tried a factory reset (have i said that already lol - i forget) - i think a factory reset takes it back to how it was before

good luck, maybe the more experienced guys can help

still think the bad signal is nothing to do with the firmware, but thats just a guess

i have downgraded to 742a (unticking maintain user data) then upgraded to 752 then 910 and then to the latest 281208 fix. codes updated great but the picture is still skipping. the box has worked great for the last 2 years and hasn't moved from the sitting room so i'm skeptical about a signal problem. maybe n*l downgraded the signal if thats possible or maybe the box is getting so much info because its only plugged in. i'm going to leave it on for the night and check it in the morning ill post my results hopefully its good news

its Maplins part number L71BT. its s 9pin female serial to 9pin female serial. make sure you computer has a 9pin male serial port or if it doesn't(most newer computers don't) you'll need a usb to serial adapter. the adapter is around E22 but i got one online for about E11 including delivery. delivery was was quite quick especially over christmas. i can give you the link for the adapter if you want its your choice. the null modem cable only comes in serial to serial. the adapter only changes the usb to a serial port and you still need the null modem cable

Re-flashed with the new image and left it for 30mins, however still no good, I could still connect so I re-flashed again and overwrote with 742, and now it seems ok as far as starting up and the display is back, however should I go straight for the new image and try again or the next logical image up from 742?

Thanks
Anyone have any ideas about the above?

It should be ok just to go straight to the new image, but you can load 910 first if you want, to be on the safe side.

Thanks Evastar i'll give it a whirl with the 910 first, and post the results accordingly.

Make sure you are not using a splitter. Where are you starting your scan from, try starting from 200 to 900.

Hi, I've just flashed with the 281208 file. I'm in Chorus.

Seemed to go through the upgrade no problem. Scanned all the channels and picked up 84 of them. Ok so far.

However, the channels are jumping/skipping.

I'm not at all familiar with this type of box. Just doing it for a friend. Can anyone help me or step me thro what is wrong if they know?
