Hi Folks,

New to the forum but not non-techie (i hope)

Relation has "The Box". Is this also known as the Starview 2 before i go and flash the wrong one?

I have downloaded GTRom_4.03 (Loader) and h20081204_455eE_api.bin (Flash File) for Cork, Ireland.

Are these the correct files.

Thanks,
B

Hi, this is the kind of clear concise thread I like.

I'm looking for help too. If they are the correct files, is there somewhere that tells me exactly how to install this firmware? I have never done anything like it before.

I allegedly got all my channels back by just entering those codes doing the rounds. No need for update.

Yes, you will get your channels back by manual inputting codes, but how often do you want to have to do that?

it's hardly back breaking stuff. The upgrading seems pretty complicated. I don't have the correct cables. This seems okay to me.

the upgrading is actually quite easy and as hiteck says your in the middle of watching something and bang it goes and sometimes its quite hard to find these codes you need, so no the best option is go to maplins or similar and buy your null modem rs232 cable and update.:)

the downloader is v4.03, the actual firmware is 4.55, leave it on a scrambled channel like s*y movies etc and it should start to auto update. Make sure emu is turned on.
