Hi, all

My PS3 can read PS2 games and DVD's but it cant read Blu-Ray discs.
Strange , it worked one day but not the next.

Does anyone have any ideas, will changing the lens etc fix it maybe ???

In the earlier ps3's the blue and red lasers had separate lenses, which is why a lot of people's earlier ps3's will still read ps2 and dvd's after their blue laser goes because the red laser will still work fine.

The only way to fix it is to replace the lens/laser. Whether you try to do it yourself or send it to Sony is up to you, but be warned after you break that seal on the back of the ps3 Sony wont touch it warranty or not.

It's 13 months old now so I think I can safely open it up.
Perfect timing hey.

So, Its a matter of removing the drive, checking the Model No and ordering the correct lens from here for example http://www.psxboy.com/catalog_68.html and hopefully it will rectify my problem ...

It wont break the warranty but you loose the option to send it in and pay sony to fix it now and later on for problems that arent such an easy fix.
