How to play 4+ GB video files on PS3 ??

Ok, I have an HD divx video that is 6.3 GB. Obviously it won't fit on a DVD-R, so I put it on a dual layer DVD. Turns out the PS3 doesn't read dual layer DVDs. Grr. Says no files on the DVD.

Or is it that the PS3 doesn't recognize the .MKV extension ?

I mean, I COULD try to convert the huge thing to divx then reburn it but that's a LOT of time, so I thought I'd ask here first :)

MKV is likely the problem, the ps3 can read dual layer disks. Also what format is the dvd? Are you using UDF?

Yah it had to be UDF to fit the big file on. It must be the .mkv file format, because I know the PS3 will play HD divx/avi files.

PS3 does not read mkv. You can rencode it or possibly stream it using PS3 media server.
