Hi all,

This is my first time updating my box I have a box super and i connected it to my pc serial port with a null modem cable and turned it on, put it on standby and opened gtrom to download the fix. I have gtrom set to com1 as that is the only port that is there but it says flash failed any idea what the problem could be.

You might have an RS232 cable & not a null modem cable.
You`ll need a null modem DB9F to DB9F.
Have a look at the pic in HiTeck`s guide here :

Thats basically it mossy, once app file only is selected.
You`re doing everything right, so it could be a dodgy cable.

Howya Des, i`m outta here in a min, ive to meet a purple dinosaur (barney) with a b0x LOL.

I`d say mossy`s problem is the cable (either its not a null modem, or its faulty).

Fla... Mossy has XP on a PC I talked him through it whilst doing one myself .. to no avail, the cable he has isnt the correct one... if your having problems and you will with Vista, then if you take the box over to one of your mates who has XP then you will fly through it, if you have the correct Cables!!
