Well I bought a an HDMI Cable for my PS3, however i cannot seeem to make it work in my Viera HD 42' Panasonic TV. My ps3 seems to recognize the cable and when it asks to switch video output to HDMI the screen goes black, i wait 30 seconds and nothing happens. I move the analog stick to see if anything happens and i heard sound as if I was going through the XMD crossbar but no video. I understand that my TV is HD compatible but i dont know what the problem is. :( please help.
nope i tried it, i unplugged the other cables and then just connected the hdmi and then pressed the button but i cant see anything i dont if its my tv or the cable. because the ps3 detects the cable when i connect it back to the regular ones.
While on the Red/White/Yellow... or component connection, change the Video Setting to "HDMI", after the 30 second countdown starts you need to change your TV input to HDMI and accept the change... or the PS3 will revert to the previous setting.
Could it be your HDMI cable? You could try buying another cheap one (less than $10 online, and they work just as well as any other) and testing that out. At worst, you'll be down $10 and have an extra HDMI cable for whipping at anyone who tries to steal your PS3.
