When i turned on my ps3 it wont load up. All it does it show the little smoke line that it usually shows when it starts up, but doesnt go to the main screen after that. Please help
Well, like the first responder said in your other thread that got closed, what else can you tell us about it? What else is going on? Are you seeing an error message? Anything? Have you tried ejecting/inserting a disc? If so, did you see the little disc reading icon in the corner? Stuff like that.
have you tried going into the service mode by holding the power button and letting it beep 3 times? there is the option to reload your database and reformat your hardrive I would try that first.
Sorry about the lack of information i posted. There is no error message, it accepts disc and ejects it fine, but i didnt notice anything about the little icon in the top about loading disc. I guess i will try the reboot method when i get out of work. So once i flip the back switch on just hold down the buton that usually turns it on?
no no need to touch the main power, while the ps3 is off with the red light, hold down the power button until you hear three beeps, if your ps3 turns off before you hear the three beeps just press the power button again and hold it down till you here the three beeps and let go, then you will get the basic menu that you would find under the XMB, there are options to reset your database and set everything back to normal.
I did the hold button down for 3 seconds went to the line that said reformat the ps3 or something. The ps3 said i had a corrupted hard drive and it was going to repair it, it did it twice and now it works perfect. I never heard of this happening to any body else, do u think i downloaded a corrupted file from the shop or do u have any other reasons why this could of happen. Thank you for the help
Like any other computer, the problem could've come from any number of things. Maybe you shut it off while downloading... or saving. Maybe it was just a freak accident. That's the one I'd like to believe. Dunno why, but it helps me go to sleep at night. :)
But yeah, there are a lot of things that could've happened. Maybe it downloaded something wrong. Maybe instead of an 0 it wrote a 1 to the hard drive. Stuff like that.
