Super noob question..
Well okay, I know nothing about flashing Xbox 360 drives... And the readme doesn't say much but well, does this method also require opening up the Xbox 360 and taking the DVD drive out or something similar ?
If so.. how is this different to any other methods ? If not, does this mean even a complete noob like me can flash his drive ? O_o.

Why, yes we do. But finding 999999 topics about people asking how to mod their drives..I dont want to go through all that crap.
You could just tell me simply can this release flash my xbox 360 without opening it up or anything..

I just used this disc to flash a benq drive. was super easy and never had to reboot the pc onc ethe whole time. i will be using this disc from now on whenever possible
did not have to open drive tray at all or do any diff modes. only had to power cycle drive at the reading and flashing resend of mkt command.

since when do you have to open the drive tray to flash a benq? i've never done this with any of the benqs that i've flashed.

i dont know i have never flashed a benq till now so i was just mentioning it i thought i had read that somewhere in some of the 1000 tuts ive seen lol oops

ok, that makes sense then, bc i was like what the heck, lol. but glad you got it to flash for you and all. maybe i'll break down and try that disc, but then again, iprep is working fine for me so ill prob just stick with it.

yea iprep is easy too. but i like that the only reason i had to go into windows at all was to see the port number for the sata card if it wasnt for that i could have just booted the disc without going into OS at all.

yea, i have to reboot with iprep though because i always have to check the key that it claimed is the original one. it always dumps a 77777777777 or ffffffffff instead of the 23978fs973h23gfg that it needs, but the backup folders are always good to go. but its still a 5 minute job though.

yea i can understand that. good thing is the disc makes backups of everything too in the HDD in the C: location
creates folder for whatever drive modied
such as C:\samsung C:\benq and so on

flashed another drive using this disk lastnight, this time i didnt even need to boot into windows cause i already knew the port assignment of my sata card from previous flash. I have a desktop i use for only flashing so it is a pain for me to have to prepare iprep or whatever else in windows and reboot and all that BS so this method i think works best for me. However i have never tried firmware toolbox or whatever its called and from what i have seen it does look pretty simple too.

i have just never tried it. That and when it was first released i was hearing about so many issues that i didnt want to mess with it, but i know those have been fixed now. Also i havent had to flash any liteons yet so when i get my hands on one i do plan on trying Jf. I also have a desktop setup just for flashing and i dont use this desktop all the time so it isnt turned on unless i am going to do a flash so if i can just hook up the system and turn the pc on and it boots straight to the mod disc it is faster than going thru the OS as the desktop is very old and thats one reason i use it for flashing only cause it isnt good for much else. i think it is only like 700-900 mhz cpu.

oh wow mine is 3.0ghz phenom 2. but anyways I use jungleflasher alot and it is very easy. I have done the Iprep thing and it was nice but I use my computer alot and i have a SATA cord coming out the back which i can connect to the xbox drive(working on getting a connectivity kit, Im a broke ass)so dont have to open case or anything. But i have never had a problem with jungleflasher except when i first used it on a benq which it froze but I have found out that you have to use a hacked version of the drivers to prevent via card from polling erased drive and freezing. Also that was on .26 now I use .43 with hacked drivers and never have any problems.

oh well i have like 4 desktops one that is 3.2ghz P4 northwood core, 1.5gb mem..but my best vid card died like a year ago and i was a big PCgamer at the time and never replaced the vid card with an equal one so i kinda fell out of pcgaming. i actually was console then pc then console and then pc and now console again. its been a nice life gaming lol ;) ive went from NES>Genesis>PS1>xbox>360 on the console side of things that is.

Ok, I am Ole Skool, Pong to Atari 2600 to Atari 5200 To Colecovision to Intellivision To Turbografx16 To Sega Master System To Sega Genesis To 486Dx266 with DOOM and WOLFENSTEIN (Yeah, baby! Yeah!)To various Pcs to Dreamcast To PS2 To Xbox to 360 To Wii to tricked out I7 with 8 gigs ram, 4 Terrabytes (have to store my games somewhere !!) To whoever comes out with the next great thing (Unless they hack the PS3 first). Oh and back to the topic. I wish that they would make an EASIER way to flash the Hitachis, I am getting TONS of them in to flash, but they are a pain. I finally got the disc to work. I am still impartial to Iprep, even with the reboots.
If It ain't Modded, I don't want it~!
