Burning 360 on my lap but no good should i buy external Hlp PLZ

download the 360game unrar it gat a image.dvd 1kb and image.iso 7.5GB ive used verbatim DL+R discs. and tryed both alcohol 120% and imgburn but get the same result when i check the disc in filemanager. the disc size is about 5mb???
1.map audio.TS (map empty)
2.map video.TS map contains 5 or 6 (maybe 5mb total)files but not even close to 7.5GB
already wasted 4discs so if anybody can help me solve this thx.
burn the discs on my laptop acer aspire 3024WLMI it has DL support 2.4x max writing speed. because im doing everting right on img burn can it be that my lap cant burn DL even tough it says so on the sticker lol. thinkink of buying "samsung SE-S224Q" and hope my problems will be solved. or if u know whats the problem i would be very greatfull/Zeepax

is your console flashed? because it its taking you 40 minutes to burn it at 2.4x then that's the correct time as that is what it takes me to burn a game at that speed. also, are you selecting the .dvd file in imageburn or the .iso file?

Yes thats right so thats not the problem. first time i chose the .iso but like u say imgburn then corects it and say someting like "u need the .dvd file il do it for u just this once" this problem drives me crazy and to replay to the question from afterdawn addict yes its a flashed xbox but ive not come that far yet because of the problem i mentioned after burn the disc contains only 5MB of files insed of 7.5GB.

maybe something is screwed up in imgburn config. i would try to uninstall it and then reinstall and dont change anything just go to the mode menu at top and select write and then choose the dvd file and see what happens.
are u sure u have a dual layer burner?

IF u have any other ideas or suggestions plz share. i fucked up 5 verbatim DL+R and they are pretty expensive. if nobody else knows what the problem could be im going to buy a external DVD-burner to my lap someone on the bay said samsung SE-224 works fine and its cheap 55euro. But would not like to buy a dvd-burner if i dont have 2. like i said on my lap the sticker says *DVD-DUAL (support DVD+R Double Layer/DVD+_RW) so whats the F....... problem? HELP ME

find out the model of the burner you have and see if there are firmware updates for it possibly. i have had some weird drive issues that were fixed with firmware updates. also if u can post the model type of the burner maybe we can give more info

Im almost sure because when i tried to burn whith alcohol 120% the max speed i could choose was 2.4x and thats what it says on the sticker on my lap for DL. but even tough im little sceptic because ive done everyting right,so maybe best to buy a external DVD-Writer

the dvd+r dl discs are rated at 2.4x so that is why it wont burn faster than that, some drives will but that would be risky.
like i said before find out what drive model u have and we can find out more info and see if there is a firmware update for your burner.
that link says u need to set layer break which u dont have to do cause the .dvd file has that set in it. so doing it manually is never needed when u have a correct .dvd file

Have you tried running xBox-Backup-Creator's image-check tool? Or, have you tried to burn other xBox 360 images? I've never had a problem like this, but those are the things I'd try: check the image with XBC & try to burn a different game. Also, you could open up the .dvd file with notepad and see what the layer break is set at.

What did the torrent good/bad say for others who downloaded it,i assume they have that option for games,meh..just go to the local vid store it saves a stack of bandwidth *not that'd i'd know you understand i just assume that's the case*

I believe once you burn a game, if you still have it in the disc tray.. windows will only show that it is like 5meg. Only programs like Schtrom and Xbox Backup Creator will show the full 7gigs (through your kreon or 0800 sammy/benq drive, but not positive on that) Have you tried these discs in your 360? Also, what firmware version are you running on your 360?

lol... or the console isn't even flashed, wabashman asked the question in like the 3rd post but it still hasn't been answered. So I thought I would ask again...
My bad, I missed your post about the xbox being flashed! But, have you tried the disc in the 360? and also, what firmware are you using on your 360 drive?
edit: btw zeepax ... if you are looking to get a burner, I have a Samsung SH-223Q DL burner with SB-03 firmware and it works great. I've probably made around 50 back-ups @ 4x and I haven't had a coaster.

I wish that was the case i burnt 5 diferent games all pal or region free. but they dont work in my flashed ixtreme 1.5 i think. he said they always flash whith newest version. in the store i told him i dont wanna buy the pig in a sack lol. so i said to the shopowner to show me the flash worked and yes we tried 2 games he had same discs as mine verbatim 8x DL+R NP. so what the hell happens when i burn them ????? to be absolutly sure i bought the even more expensive verbats made in singa pore not the ones made in India. This drives my crazy really :(

what is DL+R NP? should be DVD+R DL i dunno what NP means.
maybe u should go back to this shop u got it flashed at and take ur games with u and ask him to show u what is going on. but like i asked u a few replies ago if u would give us the model of your dvd burner and we can check to see if there are firmware updates for it, it is possible that newer firmware is needed to enable dvd dual layer feature. i had a NEW DVD drive and it would not recognize anything except regular CD, i updated the firmware to newest version and it worked like a charm. so lets us know what model is your dvd burner.
ok well if the guy wont show u how to burn them but he flashes them he must not be that smart cause burning is easier than flashing. so i guess he buys all his backups??? doesnt seem very legit service to me.

I tried to google Acer Aspire 3024WLMi (laptop) couldnt find what brand the dvd burner is but i will keep looking. yeah ur right man hes a really shady redneck dude the mane of the store was i tnink captain hook.while i was there for like 30 min 2 youths sold him 2 xbox360 and a third came whith some cables and told the owner here is the cables as promised anyway shouldnt change the subject could care less if he buys stolen consoles or selling crack behind the counter:) i just wanna know why i cant burn games to work my lap has max burn speed on DL+R 2.4x so should have bougt them but they were out ofcourse so i bought verbs 8x DL+R more expensive but singapore made instead of India

Read on the bay that u should use some software called x..mulleter someting like that cold that be the prob. what does that software do and do u have to use it before u burn? one more q. is clone cd software a dvd-burn software like imgburn? is nero better? like i said before tryed alcohol 120% that says in the info we dont take any resposability for using our software to burn games. and thats not for free ok it was for me but is imgburn the best for xbox360? im waiting a couple of more days then im going to buy a external DVD burner if nobody solves this problem i have. but first im going to try to google more what drive my lap has like someone told me but does that really matter? and if it does why the f... are they putting a sticker that says support Dual Layer for fun like u wont notice some day like now lol wanna say thx for all replays on my thread even if its not solved yet. u guys are great :) im no computer expert but if i was i would help other people 2. i dont know man i tried looking up that model laptop and acers site doesnt list a 3024 model only 3000 3050 and 3040 is all i could find.
It is releativly easy to remove a disc drive from a laptop and look at the manufacture and model type. most laptops have a little switch or something near the drive that u flick to either unlock/eject the drive. i know ibm/lenovo has a tab u pull out and it pulls the drive with it and then when u are done u just slide it back in, this is designed so the average user can swap the drive if needed. i would turn it off first of course. but that will be the most direct way of getting the info for the dvd drive. its an acer laptop but the dvd drive could been made by someone else like TSST or NEC or someone.
however i did find the laptop model listed on some site and it did say it had DVD+R DL support.
