So i got my HDMI to DVI converter and plugged into monitor... In the original XMB menu, i can set 1080p and all and looks good, but when i put in Heavenly Sword the resolution dropped... Does it not attempt to upscale on my LCD or will it just change to 720p and enlarge from there as 720p is the native resolution of the game?
Monitor is Samsung 245BW

Maybe if you uncheck the 720p. Besides that, though, I don't think so, unless you have the monitor itself do the upscaling.

Tried that, dosen't work.
It displays the game in 480p.

...try unchecking 480p? ... :P
But yeah, I have no clue. Does your monitor have, like, an upscaler of its own? Not exactly the best bet, but hey, if you can do it, then do it. Y'know.
Besides that, I've got nothing.

If the game doesn't even support 1080i on the back of the box, it most likely won't support 1080p. Some games like Uncharted, however, do support all the way up to 1080p even though it isn't stated on the back of the box. Though the native is 720p, so you'll have to uncheck 720p and 1080i (480p can't be unselected) and just leave 1080p on. This way, the game will be forced to 1080p. But like I said, the game has to have some sort of support for 1080i/p in order for it to display that high.
