hey there guys, need a little help here, bought my self a brand new ps3 (80 gig model) and updated the firmware to ver 2.60 problem im having tho is any blueray movie i try to watch, they will only play in black and white, no color at all, any one out there got any ideas suggestions to what the problem and solution would possiably be?
this might be a stupid question... but is the movie perhaps sin city? which is all black and white to begin with? if not, then what movie is it? it might be a natively b&w movie
todate, ive tried wallie, hellboy 2, starshiptroopers 1 2 & 3, the dark knight along with the 3 matrix movies, as for my TV, its a sanyo cp21se (51cm?) tube, about 2 years old, give or take, tho its running the AVI cords so should that really make any real difference?
mmmmm avi cords?are they the red, green,blue wires???
buy a cheap hdmi cord and see wil it work.it does sound like it is the avi cords.
or you could try this first.
1.it the switch at the back of the ps3 to turn it on stand by
2.with the red light on HOLD the red light keep holding untill you hear a double beep.
3.it is suppose to reset the display mode
well the reason im using the avi cables (red white yellow) is because the TV dosent have hdmi ports on it, its a tube TV, not a LCD sadly for me /cry but ill give the display mode reset a shot, as for the TV's age, its about 2 years old-ish, and is capable of playing both Pal / NTSC

my fat one's will only play in b&w aswell.
but if it did play it in colour it would be the same as watching a dvd(quality wise) their is no point in even buying blurys if you have a fat t.v just stick with good old dvds
well im buying the blurays cuz i have a bluray player in my PC which is running hdmi capable vid cards and monitor, so yeah, i just wanna play them on the PS3 so i got a bigger screen to watch lol
