I'd like to know what does everybody else thing of KillZone 2. Likes, dislikes, opinions.

First thing It's definatley not Cod 4 or @##5. I prefer 4. It's way better than resistance 2. I think this game is worth all the hype. IF you wanna compare to Halo... don't. Halo is not in the same class. I really don't remember the ps2 version being this full of action. Considering the other shooters out there and for everybody wanting to play something other than cod 4 or 5 this game is it.

What I think of Killzone 2 is that I have to get it sooner or later.

...probably later, seeing as how I don't have any provisions of the dollarly kind. :)

That said, I only played the demo, and I already like it much, much more than its prequel.

I think its awesome! its a different look and feel from Cod and i like a little versatility i got tired of Cod and i was ready to move on to something new..killzone would be the answer for me im happy to say that im satisfied with the graphics, campaign and online play despite the controls this game is solid and i feel that its not over hyped its a great game overall i find little to none flaws great game IMO its solid! no excuses

In short:

Campaign: Awesome
Online: Lackluster

I dont like the online for a lot of reasons, the main one being is the maps are way too big and opposing teams are spread out way too far apart.

Well I just finally finished Campaign and it was really fun! I liked it a lot! I played online for a little bit, and ya the maps are pretty big, but I was in a full game 32/32. So it was pretty fun. They did say that they would be releasing some downloadable content for the game after launch... Lets hope it's good!

Campaign better than the online aspect? Did not see that coming, I'm going to wait to get the game for about a week until the smoke clears.

imo there was just too much hype on this game for its own good and I want to see what it's really got before I blow 70 bucks on it when I could put the money towards rebuilding my car.

well.. we can definetly say the game is out of this world. AMAZING. Seriously looks good, plays good, and the game actually shows what war is relaly about. Call of duty games make war look good and makes you wanna call the government and enlist just for the fun of it. This game actually takes it to the next level when you actually feel the tension of the moment and you are faced with the desicion of going all out and most likely take a suicide mission or stay back in cover in fear for you life. Not the usual game that actually promotes war like a good think to happen for the trill of it. I am impressed. Only been playing single player until now and when i beat it ill try the online but i heard is even better. I sure hope so!!

PS3 finnaly pulling the shit together. MGS4 and KILLZONE 2. PS3 sure is the action game console.

My friend was pretty much bouncing off the walls about the game when he got it but now on day 2 and getting a feel for it he really things its not all that great.

Also I he said that you can't use the cover system online? is that true? Because if it is that's a pile of BS and likely won't get the game because of that. Its the straw the broke the camels back for me, almost no character or gun customization, no co-op (my favorite aspect of most games) and now the cover system which is one of my favorite features in most games.

Thankfully no major motor issues for me, besides a bad battery because of being outside in the cold and some annoying air bubbles in the cooling system. Just a lot of bodywork and a new paint job in its near future.

Since I unlocked Elite Mode, I decided to give it a shot... I really don't know how someone could beat this!?!

EDIT: I just played online, and the game types are really fun! The only problem is that no one communicates whatsoever. I mean this game is a teamwork game, and everyone is just running around doing crap!

I like the game. I had to set up the controls to Alternate 2 so that it feels close enough to COD control set up. I am playing nit on the hardest lever and I must say that its not hair pulling out frustrating like COD:WAW (I was glad I finished that game and got 100% on the trophies.) It's amazing the amount of destruction a la Matrix style that goes on in the game. The AI is not bad either. Not too hard but not too dumb. The AI for your team mate on the sigle player campaign are actually helpful. Not like the dumb-asses that I had on World at War. The game is deserving of all the acclaim its getting right now. People that don't like it are stuck on COD 4 and WAW. This one is a definite must have. I traded in COD4 (thought I'd never see that happen), MGS4, GTA4, and Super Mario Galaxy at EB to get it and I still have $62 left on an edge card. Any suggestion in what game I should get??

I agree with Bawango even tough it looks like i wrote the comments and it was quoted. lol. Original controls are weird. Like the first time you use is messed up. Two option get used to it or make a setup change. I think is alternate 2 where you shot with r1, aim with l1, and hit with r3 is perfect. Make sure you check the hold aim button too. Makes it perfect to aim and when you let go it goes back to original view right away. This makes it so much easier to move quickly, shot, and cover. I think it would have been better to have the abiliy to set it to whatever you want but the presets options get the job done. I still prefer r2 for shooting and l2 for aiming but O WELL!.. I live with it.

Great campaign.

Online's too complicated and I haven't played it since I left a match and noticed I didn't get any exp for leaving the game.

I've been playing the online more now, and after a few games you get the hang of what's going on. I like the game types, and how it doesn't go to the lobby after every game type played. I just wish it was more teamwork in the game, or some sort of communication. But no... No one talks at all!

Well, from my experience, that's sorta the rule with ALL online games. Unless you're with a group of close friends, there usually isn't much talking going on. It's part of the reason why I stopped playing MGS4 online. Though I should get back to that...

my opion of the game play is its next level so intense,Love it. A couple of flaws is that no co-op game play which can make a game. also when playing the campaign i get to certain points and it jumps, the screen loading is not fully smooth. is this just my comp or is this normal for every1s copy. i havent got round to play online yet, but hopefully its wot i expect.lol

thank you

One more thing, the online exp system is a bit confusing.

If you join a game and leave half way through the game, the statistics doesn't show that you've played that game and you don't get any exp at all.

Example.
I remember playing 4 games in total, and 2 of them, I left half way.

That statistics say that I've only played 2 games instead of 4.

This needs to be patched up.

That would seem logical though with online play. I mean in Gears of War you would lose points if you left half way through. And Gears of War 2, they did the same thing.

Though I can see that it doesn't show the actual games you were in.

When playing Campaign I think everyone has some lag when it needs to load the level. Which I think is better, then having it go to an actual loading screen.

I was a bit disappointed because on the first game I left, I got a 9 kill streak.

It now shows that I have played 4 games in total, I guess it took a while to change the statistics because I've levelled up already but it says I haven't.

I have nothing to complain now, because multiplayer is better than I thought and there's no reason for me to leave games now.

All I know is that everyone I know is playing this game right now so I'll have to play it at some point.

The graphics are great and the whole game just looks real detailed. The multiplayer still needs work. The camping out at spawn points and the lack of balancing when setting up games takes the fun out of the game. I just started playing but the weapons you get are no match for what someone higher ranked has got. It seems the game just ignores the filters you pick when selecting a game and tosses everybody together. I've only played through a portion of the campaign and a couple of days on multiplayer. If my experience doesn't change I'll be trading in this game.

Been away for a month or so now and just got access to the rest of the world today...so here goes ~

Just before I left I had the demo from the EU & the US demo from the pre-order form GS and I was IMMENSELY disappointed. Not because of the graphics or storyline or lack of MP in the demo but because of the controls. So much so that I had brought attention to it via N4G.com (contributed a news article) and the PS Forums as well.

And can you believe I was labeled a PAID MS EMPLOYEE!!! ME!?!?! Of all people!?!?!? Anyway I had to unplug for a month or so because of a death in the family because of going from FL to NC to NY to PR back to NY and finally ending in FL yesterday so this is the first chance I have really had to post my views after giving lots of hope for a patch before I got back to my PS3's....and it looks like it is even worse then before.

So not only have GG screwed the pooch with the unnecessary & unacceptable delay/lag in the input controls but now they ADDED auto aim to EVERY gun except the shotgun (where it was the only one originally)!?!? Massive disappointment to say the least, so now here I am with a rented copy of KZ2 my first day back and I am dreading having to "deal with" poor controls on what was supposed to be the next TRUE "hot" game to define the genre...

Oh well, hopefully they can fix the problems. Then, AND ONLY THEN will I spend $60+ dollars on it....though when it is all set and done I will be in it for an additional $7.61 for the rental and possibly a second rental IF they fix it just to make sure (but by then I can probably pick one up used, on Ebay or something like Craigslist.
