Currently, they are NOT planning on making an unstealth liteon firmware. It might change later on, but according to the devs, not right now.

If it has never been flashed, you'll have to have a key reader (ck3, xtractor, etc.) in order to read the key from your liteon.

Ditto on above post. XDVDmulleter is no longer used. Use abgx. If it passes that, then that is the one stop app to use. It will keep you safe (as much as possible) from getting banned.

So ive been reading tutorial on 1.51 flashing with jungleflash, but man there are too many steps. Here is the question I have... Can I do it the old way? I still have my Orig.bin (original firmware) form the last time i flashed it. CAn I...
Bust the ol' 'firmtool orig.bin <ixtreme 1.51>' (creates hacked FW)
Dosflash16 to erase my BenQ drive
Dosflash16 to write the hacked FW (created by the firmtool step)
I know there are more steps in between, but thats the jist :)... Anyone know if this is possible? I just seems easier to me. Thanks in advance. Peace

yea with the benqs you can literally update it. using firmtool will work. i used iprep which uses firmtool and you dont even need your original bin for it.

I assume the same applies to virgin LiteOn drives(Jasper)? I plan on getting one soon ;). Textbook says you can use IPrep (firmtool) for LiteOn drives, but I just want to confirm with someone who's done it. By the way thank you for responeding. Peace

I've also used iprep to flash sammy's, except with the updated firmware. No reason it wouldn't work

No my mistake. I saw Lite on in the text "Philips/BenQ/LiteOn VAD6038 Tutorial" but it was under BenQ (Textbook.2008). My fault. So, is there a guide for the Jasper LiteOn drives. Jungleflash?

Thank you. So JungleFlasher is the only way for a Jasper LiteOn? I cant use DosFlash16 / Makefirm.exe(old way)? Im asking 'cause ive done the old method and am more familiar with it. But if I must use JungleFlasher im sure im capable :). Again, gracias. Peace

For the most part it is completely a soft mod. Once you have extracted the Key, Identify, Inquiry, and Serial data via a Lite-ON key reader, everything is completely done via SATA at that point.
There is other ways to get the Lite-ON info but those methods are flawed. The only way to get the complete info is through Jungle Flasher 0.1.51.

you dont have to wait if you have a tosh drive, 0800 has been out for a few years for that drive. same with benq, 0800 will only be new to hitachis and lite-ons.

No.
You'd have to either flash the drive with the 0800 bin, which can be found in the original Toshiba-Samsung Xtreme firmware. Or you would have to flash the drive to an older Xtreme (not iXtreme) firmware and then use the 0800 disc. This is because 0800 unlock was disabled in iXtreme.

hey i have a couple questions, I have a benq with 1.4 and when 1.6 comes on i want to reflash my drive, but im paranoid to do it becuase i already f-ed one benq drive. i bought another xbox with the new liteon, i have no idea how to do the flash. i bought a sata raid controller to do the mod but alot of the information ive read and you need a key extracter, when i did my benq drive all i had to do was type in some commands and it was done. is there anything similar to that? also if I already have 1.4 on my benq drive do i need any of the orginal information that i dumped off my benq drive? HELP!

So let me get this right to flash a lite-on from 1.5 to 1.51 I just need to dump the dummy.bin file from the 1.5 firmware and merge it with the 1.51? The dummy is the only one I need to dump so I just check the box in jungle flasher that says dummy.bin only? or do I need to dump all the files like the first time?
