I'm very new to this. If I use DVD -RW discs do I have to format them in any way before use or do I open the package, put them in the recorder and have at it?
When using DVD Shrink in re author mode I sometimes want to delete the extras but leave the menus. Many times when I do it this way the menus don't work. That is, I can't highlight them and activate them. Is there a certain order that I need to drag and drop them into the left hand panel?

Hi ya charliek,

Ta answer your queries, just open the package and "have at it" !

When you want to reuse them they will be automatically overwritten :-) How good is life :P

Hate to tell you this young fella - BUT when you use DVD Shrink in the re-Author mode, you lose the use of your menus :-(

NOW, if you have Nero 6, well then, recode 2 is very similar to DVD Shrink EXCEPT the menus will work when you move them over :-)

PS Remember, most standalone DVD Players don't like RW media - when you want your backups to play in DVD Players use single write media - and most important - Use quality discs - Ritek G04 OR Verbatims are what you want !!

hi charliek

Your rw's are good to go right out of the package.Your menu will no longer work in the reauthor mode,so it doesnt matter which order you put your extras in,with DVD Shrink anyhow,.There may be another program out there thatll do what you want but its not shrink.
