With N*L rolling out Nagra3 and these boxes slowing dying, I wonder are N*L worried about the possible outcomes. When my "box" stops working I will be cancelling my N*L account and will change to S*Y. So instead of them getting my ?30 apx each month they will get nothing. The only reason I have N*L is that I can use the "box". The quality of the reception is poor. S*L is much better so I and many people I know will be cancelling their N*L account and changing. BYE BYE N*L

hey nigel27 you should get a free to air dish and satelite box.there cheap to buy and have fitted,the dish is pointed at the sky satelite so you get all the free channels on the sky satelite.and no bills ever only cost is buying and fitting(and they are falling over each other with deals)you get bbc 1/2/3/4 itv 1/2/3/4 ch4 ch5 you get true movies 1/2 simply movies,the horror channel(movies and drama)paranormal channel(movies and drama)film4 1/film4 plus 1 also movies for men 1/2 world movies 13 music channels sky news cnn euronews etc 4 or 5 kids channels many many shopping channels reality tv and plus 1 thriller channel (free drama shows mostly american from the eighties manimal,remington steele etc)romantica channel(as thriller but with ally mcbeal,chicago hope,falcon crest,the practice and many more)men and motors(its in the name)travel channel and plus 1,fashion channel,wedding tv,and many other odd weird or wonderfull channels,ok no sky sport or sky movies but also a cost effective way to get multi tv with no bills,and it will keep you going untill they find a fix for the ntl boxes,and if there fixed but go again in the future you are future proofing yourself(making sure you always have free tv of some kind).and no i dont work selling dishes or packages i just love free tv(where ever i can get it)good luck mate whatever you do.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I had no idea you get that many stations and all of these are freeview from the sky satellite? Might look into it myself.

i'm getting ready to switch oveer to sky cant wait for the sky+ box so ya nthell just shoot themselves in the foot the leg the head and the balls ....... satellite sounds good but don't want to look a a big ugly dish stuck on my house

Not everyone got a box to filch channels. The analogue signal in our part of Dublin is awful, snow nearly 24/7. Lack of snow and the French channel TV5 led to a Eurovox in our house, basically.
I am trying to convince the house owner to get a free-to-air system. I would guess N-L are slowly slowly turning the tap closed for fear of having a sizeable minority of folk 'waking up' to alternative choices.
The very basic N-L package + Irish TV License Fee = Not a cheap form of entertainment.
A customer that drops your product and becomes a fundamentalist free-to-air believer is far worse than piracy and basic package payment..

I'll be cancelling basic TV and moving to free to air as well as cancelling their broadband so they'll lose out on the double

I to will cancel my account and go to sky or F.T.A.but here is an interesting point,not only will they loose all that revenue,but there going to loose that new cable thats running across MY HOUSE.now u see where im comeing from.This could turn into a nightmare for NTHELLLL..wonder where the law stands on the cable issue.anybody any thoughts on this one

So your not only a robber but your going to cause criminal damage because the cable company has taken steps to protect it's product.
You pay the basic sub to NTL so you can cry about the cable now.
People like me who pay for the service will have to suffer a loss of service because noobs like you will cause criminal damage because you can not longer steal.

I have a phone connection from NTL are you saying you are going to cause criminal damage to the network because you can not longer steal a service from it?

By any chance are you VMEDIA from last year???

This person my taking the basic NTL sub has agreed to the cable on his property.
Also he should also read his contract.
This is the post that really got me going.

Other people have broadband and phone running on that cable also.
