Thanks Fibre,

Im siting at
Step 5:
Using the ?Homebrew Channel?, open ?IOS Downgrader?. Just follow the instructions on the screen and wait until it finishes installing the necessary IOSs.

Its ran through a couple of its files OK but one failed IOS13 v10 says ERRER (ret=4100)

It then moved onto the next one says its installing please wait and has sat there for ages now doing nowt...

Is this right does this take a while or has it failed with one of the downlaods not working?

Thanks again

just wait to takes a lot of time(10 to 15 minutes) to install the IOS downgader depends on your connection. If still fails try to change your intenet connection to manual ( setting the IP) and try again.

Thanks fibre, , It seemed to freeze I think the wirless went down so rebooted and it ran through it again and I got the rest of the steps done on the October titorial fix..

So Now im back to the tutorial here on adding the Installing WiiGator Backup Launcher 0.3 gamma:

It says in Select the cIOS36_rev9 in step 1,
When i Look on the nomebrew channel I dont have that I have 3 options

cIOS36_rev8

cMIOS_rev3

Wad Manager
Gester de wads

Do I just plump for the cIOS36_rev8?

I downloaded the files from the link in the tutorial so im wondering if there is a typo or if Ive missed a file?

Thanks again

used cIOS36_rev8 it's not a typo, REv 9 is a newer version but it should work. Rev 9 is only used if your are going to used USB backup loader.

Thanks Fibre..

Well I think ive done it...

I now have a Wii Back Up loader on my main menu as well as a homebrew channel and a wad manager so Im guessing thats It?

I havent done the Game cube part Im asuming I can do that later if needed?

Ive yet to make a back up but is there any way of knowing if what ive done is OK and will run a backup without actually hacing a backup made?

I was going to have a go but niticed Ive just got DVD+r and i think i read I need -R discs to make a back up.
Thanks again for all your help you have been a gent!!

if your are able to install WADs like the WAD manager channel then you are good to go( adding the channel)..

For backup games, used the verbatim -R and write at the lowest speed.
I have used DVD + R but rate of failure is high. so i stick with verbatim -R.

glad i can help..happy gaming...

I noticed once Id done all the steps I went back into the Wii and looked at the data/save section as I was going to delete the fake saved zelda save and it was gone, Im asuming the steps i went through deleted this for me?

Yes thats correct, 3.4 delete's the save file automatically that why one of step is to used the TP hack and used it and don't power off.

if you did not proceed using the hack and just put it in the save game and power it will be deleted.

Hi, I installed the HBC on my Wii, I have 3.4u. I go into HBC and WAD manager. I install IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad and it installs with no problem.

I am following these instructions on how to downgrade my Wii: http://www.wiihacks.com/general-homebrew...3-2u-howto.html

I am currently stuck on step 9: Step 9 - Using the ?Homebrew Channel?, open ?Custom WM?. Now using the same method as in ?Step 5?, install the ?cios_fix.wad?. Once it has installed the WAD, press the ?Home? button to restart you Wii.

When I try to install CIOS_fix.wad on either Custom WM or WAD manager, I get the error code 2011.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I think I understand and I had the same problem,

If you can now see the Homebrew channel then go into it and your SD card will display the wads it has and one is a custom wad installer if you look you will see it.. I had to run mine with the custom installer to or I got an error.

The custom installer I used came with the files I downloaded from the tutorials in here.

Im sure some of the more experience will help, as you see in this thread fiber more or less talked me through things...

Can you retry Re-install the ios16 the used custom Manager fro cios_fix.wad(some people not able to differentiate between the regular and custom). If this fails try the regular WAD manager.
