PS3 was Ylod now not turning on.

When I did the fix for the ylod, then I found out it was on for away with the light green. So then the ylod came back. I checked out whats wrong with it and the fan for the cpu was not plug in ( so stupid to double check before putting everything back together ). So do you think my motherboard is dead? Or its the Power supply. Please help.

It might be just detecting that the fan has failed, or have you tried again after you plugged it back in?

yeah nothing. i don't see a red light on the power. Double checked and everything is plug in.

If your not getting any lights at all its likely the power supply or you might have possibly shorted something out on the board.

I'd examine all the capacitors and the board itself for burn marks.

EDIT: actually I just remembered that one guy had a similar problem and it was that when he put it back together the power switch on the front of the console wasnt connected properly.

Did the person fix it? I can't figure out what the capacitor look like unless I see a picture where it is on the psu.

Yes that person fixed it all they had to do was fix the connection to the power button on the front. Its possible that you just forgot to reconnect it but not likely.

Anyway:




Capacitors are the cylinders that stick up from the board. It will be pretty obvious when one is blown. Also there might be a fuse on the PSU, make sure to check/replace that.

Is the fuse of the psu suppose to look white like white chalk?
