Is it possible to back up your PS2 games so that they can be used on the PS3 console. If it is possible how would I go about doing it? I am new to this so not an expert lol

NO, the ps3 cannot read backups as of yet.

It can,he asked for PS2 back ups - which if your PS3 supports backwards compatiability can be done.

For 20/60gb NTSC/JAP

yeah if you already have a PS3 with backward compatibility you can use swap magic to then run usbadvance/usbextreme which will then let you run PS2 isos from an external hdd.

Too bad I dont have a BC PS3 :'(

Or you can use the Swap Switch method, which involves opening up your PS3 and soldering stuff. That also requires you having a backwards compatible PS3.
