Thanks for the advices. The weird thing on my case was that JF didn't work with my hitachi 79FL. It got frozen each time that I tried to "Read to Source" . (and Vendor said "no drive detected", but the drive was already in Mode B and unlocked and recognized by Windows Vista 32bit, even it showed itself as an option in the Drive drop down menu). So, that's why I choosed to work with fwToolbox, and that one Worked excellent without any error, but just for original bin backup, key and flashing ixtreme 1.41. The 1.51 version was the bin that bricked my drive.
I Thought while my mainboard intelchipset worked once with my bricked Hitachi, will worke with any other drive. FALSE. Don't waste time.
Second, VERIFY that JF is WELL INSTALLED with PortIO32. My case is because was working on Vista, so I didn't read that I had to install it manually on that OS. (this was the problem why I got each time "no drive detected". After installed, issue was fixed)
Third, I prefer, after my researches, an time spent, USING JungleFLash. 360toolbox worked just once on my hitachi (with version 1.41). But I fried that drive when I tried to upgrade to 1.51. Toolbox freezed on my PC.
When I got my BenQ, first I tried using Iprep (according some tutorials), but insist, JF is easier (and there are more updated manuals. iprep has just the old version 006 tutorial, that was what I found)
So, to resume my history, after I got a Benq, USED finally JF. That flasher allowed me to do the following: Unlock drive, Use my orignal key (that I had extracted already with toolbox before 79FL died), sppofed with the correct hitachi version (jf has already a built-in list of drives), and choosed the correct benq 1.51 fw.
Now, I have my console working perfect. And BTW, I found somebody who sold me a PCB Hitachi 79FL Card for $12. So, I will try to fix it (this time with JF), and I hope to get a spare drive since I have the orig bins and keys (just in case).
iam trying to flash my Benq using a usb to sata cable. i using the xbox to power it and im using jungleflash. everything is fine untill i try to get in vendor mode i made sure to install all pre-requisites yet jungle flash isnt finding my drive under the IO selection they all say no driver found except for the one that is for my computers dvd drive. im using a laptop so getting a pci card isnt really an option
for what i read on forums, there is NO WAY to flash with SATA-USB cable. It MUST be via a PCI CARD (with nforce or VIA chip) or if you motherboard has already a VIA Chipset, it will be fine. I've never heard about laptop connection to the drive via USB. I think is impossible. Try with any open PC that you can ask to someone just for a moment (time aprox flashing to me a noob and reading tutorial at same time : 25 - 35 minutes and depende what kind of drive - hitachi 79 hardest to me)
