If you look at the bottom of fergus's posts you will find everything you need.

I assume you have NULL MODEM Cable and USB-SERIAL adaptor (if required?)

Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you know what for if you know who might hear you, you know what youll get. Youll be sent off to you know where for you would not know how long. Maybe I could search through the threads so you dont have to ??

kryptview are the only boxes working with nagra 2 at the moment untill when we dont know but if you get even 2 months out of one of these boxes then it will have paid for itself compare to sub fees.

you dont open the file save it to your desktop you use the loader to load the file to the box

turn the box off at the back open the loader get the file on it hit download and then turn on the box at the back and let it flash

what type of pc do you have and is it vista, also if you have a friend with a pc use his to flash it(see will it work)or get hold of an old pc (they have seriel ports,no need for usb adaptors or driver discs).just plug one end of a null modem cable in to your box and one end in the pc.i got hold of an old desktop with a seriel port(now no problems)my laptop has vista on it(vista is crap for flashing boxes)i think if you know a friend as i say you could try it on his pc(but as i say vista not anygood for flashing, you need winxp)also you dont open the bin file, download downtool_0927.exe its here on this site, and then download bin file(latest bin file will say 30/04/09.you then have to open downtool in your pc.on top of screen you will see, channel edit, sdx edit, favourite edit, download(click on download)a small box will appear(code send)in file box click open(here you find your bin file(click on it,click on open)your bin file should now be on screen in the code send box.set com port.turn the power in box off, click on start, then power on box.should start to download now.(the front display on your box should be green line.it will say 100% (but still wait untill it says flash success(box will reboot itself)do not pull any cables out untill all this has been done.then choose provider and scan.

it would seem vista is the problem, did the other laptops have vista?.you could buy an old desktop with windows xp and a seriel port at the back for very little money, the kryptview is a great box be ashame to not flash it,but the best advice i can say is as a newbie read all info on the threads slowly and carefully and when you have all you need take your time and be patient(and hopefully the solution will present its self)i hope you get it sorted mate.
