newbie: I purchased Platinum DVD Xcopy over a month ago but did not load it(version 4.0.3). Do you realy need to activate online or by phone? I heard not be on-line when you first install. Why do you need the update 4.0.3b? Thanks..

you always need updates mate (better because u get increased stability and better quality
yer u will need to activate your software, why u wait so long?
u can do it by phone or online (i suggest online)
quicker and cheaper
im guessing by saying that u heard it wasent good to install it online was because someone said that when they did it there firewall reported the program trying to access the 321 site?

have you been to there official site?
ztult, there are Xcopy forums on this site somebody in there will most likely have it just dont put down your email address ;D

Hey Fellas,
Anyone looking for DVDXCOPY Platinum v 4.0.3.8?
I don't know how long that file will be there but I found it on the Filesearching.com and installed it.
It works fine.

The first one should be Version 4.0.3.8.

Hey Cowfuton!
You are the BEST, I set up this account just to personally thank you for that link!! I am sure there are a lot of people grateful to you who don't have an account!! I was getting extremely frustrated trying to find it--can you believe that some people are selling this update on E-Bay? Clever, but it pissed me off I didn't get it before 321 took it down. As of 4/28, it's still there. I downloaded and saved it. I noticed that it is version 4.0... Does that still include the ripper? I have already purchased version 3.2.1 but I'm afraid to "activate" it via the Internet because I thought I read somewhere that 321 Studios will send over a file that will "deactivate" the ripper. Has anyone heard this?
Maybe I'll try the other version that I just downloaded.

I downloaded the update from that site, and it has the ripper removed. However, it has a newer version of the DVD X Resecue. I have to rename my old DVD X platinum folder to platinum_org, and after running the update, rename the folder back to platinum. This way, I can keep the ripper platinum and the new DVD X Rescue.

IQ_ZERO,
I'm wondering if you're downloading the right file, because v.4038 is the last version released that had the ripper.
I do have a question thought, I'm downloading this file right now and it says that its the full install. When I go to install this, will it detect that I already have v.321 installed, and it will only upgrade then, or will I have have to uninstall v.321 and install v.4038? One more thing, if I have to do the full install of v.4038 do I just use my v.321 licence and password?
Is there just an upgrade available?

I did the same thing that you said. You may want to look at the size of the Xpress and Platinum (Application0 files, they are much smaller thant you 3.2.1. version.

guinnyss,
You will have to purchase the software to get that #, and I would suggest that you do so soon, before all copies of the software with the ripper are sold (gone forever). You may be able to find a copy of it at a software/computer store.
I know this isn't the answer that you're looking for, but what we are looking for is the update/upgrade from v.321.
